Dear Lord,
When I think about focusing on my prayers during this Lenten season, I know it should be on remembrance, reflection, and repentance. But my mind keeps being drawn to the crisis in Ukraine, and my heart aches.
I pray for peace and reconciliation in this region, as I remember that Jesus, you are the Prince of Peace. I pray for the protections of the people there: those who have had to flee for their safety; those who are afraid, and cold and hungry.
I pray for the people who have stayed, who will have to bear arms. I pray your wisdom, strength, and courage for them. I pray for the volunteers who are trying to help in the refugee camps, to get the funding and supplies they need.
I know dear Lord, that you are sovereign in all situations. Please help us, and all these people to find comfort, peace, and hope through you.
