My mother used to tell the story that from Good Friday until Easter morning, it would be quiet in the apartment where she grew up. No radio, no chit chat, nothing frivolous. Maybe some reading, some preparation for the Easter meal. But everyone remembered and regarded Jesus’ sacrifice with the awe and seriousness it so deserved.
Today spend at least some time in quiet appreciation of the sacrifice Jesus has just offered. Use the short time of waiting until we celebrate tonight to grieve that a sacrifice was necessary and resolve to offer your own life as God might need it to build the Kingdom of God.
