Lenten Reflection
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” (Psalm 46, verses 1 and 2)
The Psalm continues with examples of other fearful desolations that could oppress mankind, and concludes with these calming words: “Be still, and know that I am God…”
In other words, don’t worry, God’s got this.
I have led a fairly charmed life so far, with only slight desolations, and the message of this psalm has been easy to heed. God, please help me to put my trust in You if/when the desolations become more burdensome.
Thank you.
Amen
